Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Whenever I try to delete (using Shift-Delete) a whole folder(s), Nautilus will delete the content but then hangs. I have to Forced Quit, no other wait around.

It only appears to have this problem with larger folders (having hundreds of files/sub folders). Smaller folder are OK.

Also the behavior is often repeatable (not always but could be recreated), so I will send more info here...

Can anyone tell me a solution to fix this? I can't delete anything without freezing nautilus. How do I complete kill nautilus.... it having 'zero files opened'? I don't have the SVG file opened has this thread offers a solution by doing this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=514081

I basically want to start a completely new 'no files' opened nautilus session.

I fixed mine ... I had to manually delete a open file which was a configuration from vineyard which was suppose to be a nautilus extension. Because it was buggy, I delete it using Terminal with 'rm' command. Deleted.. killall nautilus... nautilus back in ACTION!

As the author of VIneyard, I can confirm that one of the extensions installed caused this behaviour.
I'm of course sorry for the trouble and would like to point out that this is already fixed and that the next version won't have this issue.
For now a simple: sudo rm /usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-2.0/python/vineyard-configuration-selection.py - will do the trick.
