Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I'm running Ubuntu Edgy fully updated. When I right-click on a file and select "Open With", CPU usage jumps to 100%. The only way to get CPU usage back down is to do a 'killall nautilus'

It appears to happen here too after I close the 'open with...' dialog box.

Thanks for your bug. Could you install libgnomevfs2-0-dbg nautilus-dbg and get a backtrace when you get the issue?
- gdb -p $(pidof nautilus)
(gdb) thread apply all bt

do you still have that issue? could you try to "strace -p $(pidof nautilus)" and note what it's doing when that happens? What the backtrace get with "thread apply all bt", nautilus usually list several threads and you have only one to your comment

This has in fact been fixed as I indicated with the above-mentioned nautilus
update.

thank you for the update. what do you call "above-mentioned nautilus update", there was no updated mentioned on the bug. Marking as fixed anyway according to the comment

I apologise. I replied earlier when it was fixed via email and it apparently did not appear here on launchpad. I sent a reply dated September 4th with the following:

It appears as though this has been fixed with the latest update to nautilus (version 2.16.0-0ubuntu1).
