Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus crashes when I try to open a mounted NTFS partition.. This happened after my laptop was switched off automatically during a copying to that partition, as battery got over and my laptop was running on the battery at that time...
All other partitions including other NTFS ones mounts correctly...
Even this partition works correctly via terminal...
But Nautilus is having some problem..

I, too, am having this same problem. I was transferring a huge file to my windows (ntfs) drive. It happened about a month ago, and I can't remember exactly what happened, but the file transfer did not finish completely (properly).

I can mount the ntfs drive without a problem. I can open and browse my ntfs drive via the terminal, and Krusader (another file manager I downloaded to try out). I can open Nautilus, in any directory, and browse all over the place... UNTIL I browse to the "/media" directory - then it crashes (I also lose all the icons on my desktop, and any other nautilus browsers I have open). If I click directly via the menus: "Places", "WinDrive", the same thing happens - crash.

(If I do NOT have my WinDrive (ntfs partition) mounted, then I can browse to the "/media" directory without a crash)

Is there any additional input I can give to aid in the debugging of this problem?

Thanks.
