Wrong folder size on folder in smb shares

When surfing on an smb share which is an xp machine, while right clicking on a folder it reports a false/wrong folder size. Compared to the actual folder size after copying to my computer.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

This is also if you're just inside of two Linux based machines, the reported size is wrong, thank you

This is probably not nautilus bug. This looks like libsmb bug. Libsmb generates same inode numbers for different files which makes nautilus (gvfs) treat them as hardlinks and count their size only once.
I've submitted bugreport with patch to samba bugzilla: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8010 .

This patch is made for current samba git, but can be applied to samba 3.5.4 with minor changes.

This was fixed in 3.5, long since available in Ubuntu.
