I'm on Karmic Beta.
This seems to only apply to the Desktop:
(0) Put a couple icons on your desktop.
(1) Right-click your desktop and uncheck "Keep Aligned"
(2) Move your icons around as you like.
(3) logout & login or restart your machine
(4) right click on the desktop again and you will see that "Keep Aligned" has been checked again.
It would be nice if it remembered that you previously unchecked "Keep Aligned" |

P.S. I guess you don't need to have icons on your desktop, this just helps to illustrate. |
