I was erasing some files.
The files got deleted but nautilus suddenly crashed

Crashed while copying 4 directories on 2 disks - yea that's multitasking, but... - did I loose any data????

I was deleting some files on a Windows partition, and then nautilus crashed.
The files were deleted.

I'm working fm ubuntu cd, was deleting a batch of files, (while copy-pasting from one folder to another), when the crash happened and both windows closed. I think this is jaunty jackalope, from summer 2010. Stepstone
