Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Hello Rohan, did you send this report upstream? may you tell us the bug number there? is this still happening with karmic?

No I never sent it upstream, sorry. The clicking of the network icon doesn't work with Karmic either, and instead I just mounted them manually from within nautilis using file->connect to server.. and placed them as permanent shares - that works.

I have this problem since the latest update on Karmic. Version is 2:3.4.0-3ubuntu5.3 (karmic proposed)

Yes, the problem persists in Karmic.
I checked with three machines:

Karmic 64bit over ethernet works fine
Karmic 64bit wireless connection not installed

Karmic 32bit over ethernet works fine
Karmic 32bit wireless connection does not work in nautilus, but works in terminal with smbclient

If that is of interest:
OpenSUSE 11.2 32bit over ethernet not installed
OpenSUSE 11.2 32bit wireless connection does not work in nautilus, but works in terminal with smbclient
