2009-07-12 13:33:16 morryis description Binary package hint: nautilus With Karmic I notice a strange behavior of nautilus. When I use Nautilus to launch a video file from my video folder, the nautilus window often becomes non-responsive while the video is playing. There is no difference wether I use totem or vlc to play the videos. No problems with Jaunty. I also experience bug #384410, maybe there is some relationship. This is what I get in the logfiles as soon as nautilus becomes non-responsive: messages: Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.627762] __ratelimit: 352 callbacks suppressed Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.627764] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. When I use Nautilus to display a folder with video files in it, the nautilus window often becomes non-responsive after a few seconds. Usually it takes about 15 to 20 seconds until nautilus freezes. Since not every folder with video files causes nautilus to freeze, it might be connect to certain video formats. There seems to be no effect whether I start playing a video with a video player or not. No problems with Jaunty. I also experience bug #384410, maybe there is some relationship.
