Binary package hint: nautilus
Release: Ubuntu 8.04.2

$ apt-cache policy nautilus

While renaming a file in the current directory (eg. right click on file -> Rename), the current file name is highlighted for renaming. Now WHILE the current file name is still highlighted, if I click the 'UP ARROW' to move to the parent directory, nautilus does so, BUT my mouse cursor changes to indicate that it is busy (the round cursor with the revolving dot).
I was expecting that the cursor would just remain the same, and the file rename operation to be just canceled.
I do not lose control of nautilus, I can still click and move to other directories etc. and the cursor is restored to normal, but it is just when I'm in the parent directory, the cursor changes.
This is not a big serious bug, just a little one that I thought I should report.

Thanks for reporting this bug. I can confirm that it also exists in Jaunty with Nautilus 2.26.2. Steps to reproduce are basically as you described: go into a directory in Nautilus, right-click on a file and select "Rename...", and then (without doing anything else) click "Up" to enter the file's parent directory. The mouse pointer changes to a "busy" pointer and remains that way (so long as the pointer is positioned over the Nautilus window) apparently until one navigates to a different folder or closes Nautilus.
