can't eject a mounted partition from /media

disks and partitons can be ejected or unmounted from the context menu when in computer:///, but not when in /media

if you are browsing a disk and click up, do don't arrive anywhere from which you can eject the disk. even if you got into the disk by starting at computer:///

i propose that either:
'eject' is added to the context menu when you right click on the mount point of any mounted disk.

when you are in /media/USBDisk and you click up, you arrive into computer:///

upstream has a patch for that but it's blocked by freeze so for that cycle, they will use it next cycle. The patch is not trivial, I'm not sure it's worth backporting for dapper

That is fixed upstream now. The patch is not trivial, has some new strings and the issue is minor, so we will probably not backport it for dapper

actually, it isn't possible to eject from /media yet, only from tree/places side-panes.
