Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
In Nautilus, in "browser mode", I think:
1. Use the Gnome "Places" menu to open the user's Documents directory in Nautilus.
2. Notice that (correctly) no files or directories in the Nautilus window. I would not expect any to be selected, of course.
3. Navigate to the parent directory by either clicking the "Up" button or Menu: Go-->Open Parent.
4. BUG: Notice that the selection set is not empty. It should be. The "Documents" directory is preselected, even though, as far as I am concerned (and as "up" convention in other OS's goes) this is a new navigation to this parent directory.
Note that when opening a directory from within a Nautilus window, no files or directories are ever preselected, as expected. It is this "up" that does it for some (buggy) reason.
This bug is directly related to another one I posted, Bug #362091.
It seems that the selection code for Back and Up should be exchanged in order for their behaviors to work as expected.
Thanks!
