Crash on opening properties of mpg files

Nautilus crashes whenever I try to view the properties of any mpg file by selecting `Properties' from the drop-down menu that appears on right-clicking on the file icon. But this happens only for mpg files and not for mov, avi or dat files.

Could you provide some more information, please? Run nautilus from the the terminal and try to reproduce the crash; it might give a reason. If not, try to obtain a trace by following these instructions:

And also, do you get the crash with ALL mpg files, or just some of them?

Thanks for your bug report, which version of Ubuntu and nautilus do you use? Could this possibly be https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/27376 ? And as Phil said: please attach a backtrace (either by running through the instructions on the wiki page, or by installing nautilus-dbg libgnomevfs2-0-dbg libc6-dbg libgtk2.0-0-dbg and libglib2.0-0-dbg and hitting the "Inform developers" button (bug buddy dialog).
