Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

The summary says it all:
Nautilus lists files contained in inaccessible directories as "0" instead of "?" if you expand the tree form of it. For example, if you are in list view, it says "?" for the number of files and directories inside lost+found until you try to expand it by clicking the arrow on the left, after which is says "0".

This is by no means a critical bug; it is just a minor annoyance that should be trivial to fix.

Which version of Ubuntu are you running? May you take an screenshot of the issue? Does the same happens with the Intrepid version of Nautilus? thanks.

I am running Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS. I will attach two screenshots: one of before expanding the tree, one after. I have no idea about the Intrepid version of Nautilus.

the issue seems to be an upstream one, could you sent it on bugzilla.gnome.org?

It seems as though you have already done this, but I will keep it in mind for the future. Thanks.
