Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I'm using the latest Nautilus on Ubuntu Intrepid.

Now that nautilus supports tabs, I would like it to have an option to open folders in new tabs instead of new windows by default. So that, for example, if you already have one nautilus window open and you click an item in the Places menu, it opens on a new tab instead of opening a whole new window.

Hi :)

This would be really nice, especially now that even Windows users are getting used to the tabbed browsing features of web-browsers.

Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

Hi again, sorry for double posting!

In Nautilus
Edit - Preferences - Behaviour
allows people to select "Open in new window" perhaps being able to select "Open in new tab" would be another good option there?

Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

I tried »man nautilus« and »nautilus "/..." "/..." "/..."«.
My result was 3 opened Windows :( and one tab in each window.

My wish is a shell command to open 3 tabs in one window - for example:
»nautilus "/..." "/..." "/..."«. 3 Tabs - one window
»nautilus "/..." | nautilus "/..." | nautilus "/..."«. 3 windows with one tab in each one.

How I found this page:

Upstream bug was marked as a duplicate of bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481823 - could someone update the bug in launchpad? I do not have the priviledges, I am afraid.
