Places sidebar bug when trying to move items

Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) and I've been having a lot of trouble with moving existing items in the "Places" sidebar in Nautilus.

I have the following shortcuts in places:
- Documents
- Downloads
- Pictures
- Videos
- .icons
- Music

Whenever I try to arrange them alphabetically by clicking and dragging them into place, sometimes the wrong item is moved (and to a completely random location). For an example, I try to move "Music" above ".icons", it moves "Documents" above ".icons" instead. Very irritating to say the least. I've experienced this with 3 different complete installs of hardy heron.

Nautlius version 2.22.2.

thank you for your bug report. do you have invalid bookmarks in .gtk-bookmarks? could you attach this one to the bug?

Changed in nautilus:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

Indeed I did. I had a bookmark for a location that no longer existed. After removing that, everything seems to be working again. Thanks
