Bug Description
The F2/rename file function is disabled in nautilus 2.22.2 for read-only files. Apparently the developer's assumed that this function is not needed when files can't be renamed because they're read-only anyway, but I often just copy & paste the name of a file in the console. So when you press F2 on a read-only file you should be able to edit the file name, but you should receive an error message when you try to apply changes.

Thanks for your bug. Please keep in mind that developers are people too, and that this may not be intentional at all; a huge amount of changes have happened since Nautilus 2.20 including introducing a completely new virtual file system, and regressions are possible. However, I cannot reproduce that here even with a file with 444 permissions. Can you give us any more information that may be helpful in reproducing this? Kind of filesystem, whether or not you're using spatial or browser mode, the view you're using, and/or anything else we might find helpful. Thanks.
