Bug Description

Dear all,

With a fresh install of ubuntu 18.04.1 and libpam-mount, I encounter
issue when I copy small text files of few octets from remote share to
local host with nautilus.

More exactly, when I paste the file from a mounted remote samba share
to a local directory, nautilus reports a time of transfer of
approximatively 596523 hours! The process keep locked and I need to
killall nautilus to terminate the copy.

It seems that nautilus is unable to "understand" the end of copy
because the file is well copied from remote to local directory and is
usable.

Can you resolve this issue please ?

Kind regards.

Thank you for your bug report. Could you give some details on how you configure/use libpam-mount and what sort of mounts you are doing with it? Can you copy files with cp or gvfs-copy without issue or do they have the same bug?

Hello,

Here my simple configuration working well since two years except this issue:

libpam-mount configuration:
---------------------------
$ sudo apt-get install cifs-utils libpam-mount
$ sudo vi /etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml

<!-- Volume definitions -->
<volume uid="1000-2000" mountpoint="/home/%(USER)/Desktop/%(USER)" path="%(USER)" server="10.20.30.40" fstype="cifs" />
<!-- pam_mount parameters: General tunables -->

samba configuration:
--------------------
[homes]
   comment = Home directories
   browseable = no
   read only = no
   create mask = 0644
   directory mask = 0755
   valid users = %S

Copying files with cp or gvfs-copy works well without any issue.

I can report this bug with Xfce Manjaro, Gnome Fedora, Cinnamon/Mate LinuxMint too.
This bug doesn't appear on KDE !

Kind regards

Ok, weird that gvfs works but nautilus not, those usually rely on the same underlining libraries. Could be worth reporting upstream also on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/issues/
