Zooming the icon view in Nautilus also resized desktop icons

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a Nautilus window
2. Set to Icon view (not list)
3. Change icon size, either by Ctrl-scroll wheel or by the icon size slider

Observed behaviour
1. Icon size changes in the Nautilus window (expected)
2. Icon size changes on the desktop (NOT expected)

The icon size does NOT change in other open nautilus windows, but zooming any nautilus windows in icon view mode also changes the desktop icon size.
