Bug Description
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
GNOME nautilus 3.14.3
Unity desktop
On the Desktop, if a .desktop file is dragged to a new position, the pointed-to file is moved instead. It is impossible to drag the .desktop file to a new position.
Example:
1. On the Desktop, create a regular file called test01.txt.
2. On the Desktop, create the file test01.desktop with the following contents:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=test01
Type=Link
URL=/home/
Icon=text
3. Try dragging the test01.desktop icon (with displayed name "test01") to a new position. test01.txt will move instead and it is impossible to move "test01" to a new position.
Example 2:
If you highlight a URL in the firefox address bar and drag it to the desktop, a *.desktop file will be created pointing to that URL. If you try moving the *.desktop file icon to a new position, the webpage contents will be retrieved and its icon will be moved to that location. Again, the *.desktop file's icon is impossible to move.
Note, however, that in both cases above, the *.desktop file can be cut/pasted into another directory.
