Bug Description

Binary package hint: samba

normally shared folder ending with "$" souled not be displayed in nautilus but they are.

Paul van Genderen (paulvg) wrote :

Those are administrative shares and are listed with for instance smbclient -L, why should they be hidden in nautilus? If the host does not want them to be seen, it should simply not share them.

For instructions to disable administrative shares, read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/288164

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Samba has always listed administrative shares. Nautilus may want to hide them at its level.
