RESIZING THE COLUMNS IN NAUTILUS

when i open the nautilus the default view is "view items as list" but the name column many times show very narrow width, if i try to resize it dragging the partition line on top it does not happen. I try to switch the view from list to grid and back to lis, still the problem persist.
Can you please help
