Bug Description

When I log in, the desktop is drawn for a moment, and then the icons disappear. The wallpaper remains. When I click on the Nautilus icon, the same thing happens. Loading from a terminal gives me:

This appears to be a duplicate of #1203349. I had a 0-byte file with extension .pdf in ~/Desktop (probably created by Evince or Firefox). Changing the extension solved the problem.
