Bug Description
I'm one who doesn't like the trend where file explorers are using buttons (exclusively) to represent the current hierarchical location you're at in the file system. Instead, I like to see the text representation of the path like this:
/home/user/
Unfortunately, there is no way (I've found) to set my preference in Nautilus.
To see what I'd prefer, you can go here in the menu:
Files > Enter Location
But there is no way to set this view as default.
I do see certain advantages to the button-hierarchy method, in that you can click any button to go to a particular place in the hierarchy. But often I despise the fact that these buttons do not have enough room to display the complete path back to root.
There needs to be a "View > Toolbars" (similar to options you'd see the Firefox). This could potentially allow you to see both representations of the path at the same time.
