trash folder always appears to be empty

Bug Description

In Nautilus, I right-click on a file or directory and choose "Move to Trash". The file is removed from its folder, and moved into ~/.local/share/Trash/files (screenshot). But, the Trash folder in Nautilus always shows up empty (screenshot).

I logged out and logged back in again, and at some point this problem fixed itself.
