Nautilus crashes when opening a new tab on a opening usb

While I was opening a new tab on an opening usb in Ubuntu 11.10 it caused all open Nautilus windows to close. I have repeated the process many times and the bugs continue.I expected it to be able to open the tab with the opening USB but it caused Nautilus to close
