The amd64 build didn't finish until 2 hours ago. Give it time to hit your
mirror.

Understood. Thanks for taking the time to reply Mario.

Now I have two questions:
1) Is there a way I could have seen for myself that the build hadn't finished so I didn't waste anyone's time, and
2) What is the most appropriate way to ask a question half way through a (closed) bug report?

Hi Aaron:

1) Look at launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/PACKAGE
Click the version in question and there are links to see the status of the builds
2) Generally bug reports aren't for questions. If the same *identical* bug is happening again, change the bug's status to NEW and mention it. If it's different or related, open a new bug.
