Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv-frontend

On some Australian DVB-T streams coming off-air in LiveTV mode, when it crosses a program boundary according to the off-air EPG, the video playback freezes. To resume, the user must exit and re-enter LiveTV mode. All other recording and playback functionality is working normally.

The box is running an updated Hardy Heron (last update was about 3 days ago). It was installed as Edgy Eft some months ago and upgraded with the update manager. In older versions of MythTV on Ubuntu, it would sometimes stop the display with an error page: "There was an error showing video". But it was far less often than the current problem.

I can't do a re-install of the box because it is our main TV and finding time to take it down to do that is very difficult.

I'm having the same problem with Mythbuntu 9.04, Opera DVB-S1 Box. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Maybe it has to do with the following xsession-error:

Howdy, and thank you for helping to make Mythbuntu better. Unfortunately, the mythtv developers upstream have stopped focusing on 0.21 based reports in preparation for a 0.22 release later this year. Can you please try to see if this bug is reproducible on 0.22? If it is, we can try to forward this bug upstream to get the right eyes focused on it.

We have builds of mythtv 0.22 available on a PPA to test. Please follow the directions at http://mythbuntu.org/auto-builds to enable them.

WARNING: If you intend to revert back to 0.21 after testing, you will need to back up your database before upgrading.

    Thanks!

Due to personal circumstances, I no longer have access to this MythTV installation and have not had funds or time to re-create it elsewhere. If someone else is willing to take this on and test it in 0.22, that would be awesome. If not, then I will have to abandon it.

Closing since this is not reproducible. If you can reproduce it on with 0.22, please do not hesitate to open a new ticket!
