Do you guys happen to have a real Analog TV device that generates /dev/video0 ?

If so I can reproduce this bug easily. temporary disable the kernel modules that own /dev/video* will make mythtv working again.

Please install apport-gtk, and reboot your machine. The apport service will startup, and notification-daemon will intercept any reports.

Apport-gtk is installed and does work. However it does not catch the failed start of the frontend.
