in 6 tried to install only one time the error was this. The other time the error was this
"The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:

[Errno 5] Input/output error

This particular error is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment."
the other time i tryed install using the italian language
I get the iso from the mythbuntu site (mythbuntu-7.04~070603-i386.iso)
i make 4 cd of the iso (3 burn from iso get via hhttp and the last burn with other program and cdrom drive from iso get via torrent)
after the first 2 installation I make one complete installation using a normal ubuntu feisty cd and all goes well
in the last installation I try to set the english language, but the result was the same, the error output was only traslated in eglish (the older error output was in italian)

can I post this error in other bug?

thanks for the very fast reply!

Luca,

If you can, do you have a virtual machine such as vmware or virtual box
installed? Run your ISO in that to verify that things are working as
expected - and to rule out a bad drive.

Also, check the md5sum of the image.

following the instructions that give me Mario Limonciello in irc channel I sucessfull installed the mythbuntu in vmware
before start the installation into one text terminal I reinstall the ubiquity.
(sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubiquity ubiquity-frontend-gtk)
and the installation goes well

I also tryed to reinstall mythbuntu in my desktop but using the CD reader instead of the DVD reader (I change it) and the installation goes well
I don't know if this is a problem of mine DVD reader (benq model 1650V) or the problem is for all the DVD reader.
I hope this help someone!

I was having this exact same problem and tried the couple different things listed above. The one that worked for me was the command:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubiquity ubiquity-frontend-gtk

Here are the steps I took:
boot pc with mythbuntu cd
made sure I had an internet connection by opening Firefox
right clicked on the desktop and clicked Terminal Emulator
put in the command listed above
answered yes to install question
when it finished installing I double clicked the Install MythBuntu icon

That is when I noticed an option that was not previously there on the first few attempts.
I was asked how many Tuners there would be and what kind they were. The install went great from there! No more failure at 83%
