Can you reproduce this again and again via apt-get -f install or dpkg-reconfigure mythtv-common?
If so, can you please add a set -x to the second or third line of the script so we can see where it's failing?
The script is stored in /var/lib/ dpkg/info/ mythtv- common. postinst. You should be able to access it as soon as you hit a failure.
