Bug Description

Somehow after upgrading from 18.10 where the package was. It got auto deleted (guessing conflict of packages of some sort) but afterwards I was not able to work again since this is a daily tool I use for managing several projects. Was wondering how long it takes to push this package to live. Thank you

Looks like the package was removed because it failed to build and it blocked transition of newer libzip. Please see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-workbench/+publishinghistory and https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=914761 for more details.

When will this package be available again? Where can I track the status?

Thank you Hans, so it is missing but also it creates a huge negative domino effect if it gets included. For anybody coming here for the same issue, while we wait for this to resolve, go here and do those steps https://askubuntu.com/questions/1135823/install-mysql-workbench-in-ubuntu-19-04 I left an answer there for the 2 cases you will most likely run when installing it along with a link pointing over here.

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=914761 is the reason it was removed and following the links I ended up at https://salsa.debian.org/debian/mysql-workbench/merge_requests/1. Looks like a newer version of mysql-workbench is prepared, but it hasn't entered the archives yet. Apparently the mysql-connector-c++ need to be updated as well, see the merge request discussion for more details.

Looks like the issues in Debian has now been resolved and a new version of mysql-workbench has been synced to Ubuntu Eoan. Unfortunately, it fails to build :( See https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-workbench/8.0.17+dfsg-1/+build/17360897 and https://launchpadlibrarian.net/437350165/buildlog_ubuntu-eoan-amd64.mysql-workbench_8.0.17+dfsg-1_BUILDING.txt.gz for details.
