I have not been able to reproduce this build failure on i386. Is this a matter of the bug being only intermittently reproducible, or is this bug fixed?

Given that it's a test suite failure, rather than a build failure, I'd be willing to bet it's intermittent, reliant on moon phase, etc.

Feel free to drop the prio on it until someone (perhaps me, in the next rebuild test...) can reproduce it.

Dropping priority. The failed test has the following text above it:

Waiting for completed, this may take several minutes

The test failure may be related to that.

FWIW, the mysql test suite can be temperamental and is known to fail in random places when the machine load is high. It also cannot be run concurrently with another mysql test suite on the same machine (hard coded ports are used).

This bug was fixed in the package mysql-dfsg-5.0 - 5.0.51a-3ubuntu4

mysql-dfsg-5.0 (5.0.51a-3ubuntu4) hardy; urgency=low

  * Disable ndb_backup_print tests as it fails sometimes (LP: #194542).
    Patch taken from 5.0.54.
