Obviously, I probably created this problem myself by trying to install something incorrectly.
However, in my defense, I must say all I wanted to do was install the mysql database, but I could not for the life of me figure out which mysql thing I should install - there were seemingly hundreds of different things listed under mysql. Same for ruby and many other well known useful tools. It would be very useful to have a very shortened list of well known things, and then have as an option the ability to list all the other possibilities.
