From your mysql error log at https://launchpadlibrarian.net/621909847/Logs.var.log.mysql.error.log.txt I see that there is a service already running on the mysql port. Do you have any additional instances of mysql or mariadb already installed and running? If this is the case, this is not supported here.

Otherwise, would you mind verifying what service is running on that port? stopping it and retrying the operation should fix things for you.

Until then, I am setting this bug as incomplete. Once you provide the additional information, please, move the status back to new.
