Hi Kais,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
this should have nothing to do with your other OS or grub.
It is "just" an upgrade of the mysql package that fails.
From the log: 0ubuntu0. 17.04.1) ...
Setting up mysql-server-5.7 (5.7.18-
Job for mysql.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status mysql.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
invoke-rc.d: initscript mysql, action "start" failed.
You'd need to check that on your own as the errors seems to be older.
Your upgrades were on "2017-06-02", but the snippet of the mysql server log that was reported was from today - and that no more contained a startup error.
If you happened to have a broken mysql config that prevented the server to start and fixed it up now, then the upgrade will work now. mysql/error. log and "systemctl status mysql"
Otherwise please get back here with details that is:
1. retry the mysql upgrade
2. after it fails check and report /var/log/
Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.
If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http:// www.ubuntu. com/support/ community
Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http:// www.chiark. greenend. org.uk/ ~sgtatham/ bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.
