Bug Description

mysqld-akonadi consistently causes 2 to 3 wakeups per second on idle on my machine. This makes it the highest cause of wakeups coming from a user source for me. By comparison, virtuoso-t, used by nepomuk causes 0.5 wakeups per second.
Is there a way to tweak mysql to wake up less frequently?

I've filed a feature request with upstream. In 5.1/5.5 the InnoDB storage engine will have a background thread that wakes up every one second.

In future versions there will be more threads for background work (as this is required for multi-core scalability), so it is an interesting question how this will affect battery life.
