Bug Description

I had mysql 5.5 installed and working fine, then I received a notice that I did not understand about my system no longer being fully supported and asking me to update. This caused a kernal file update which failed. Since than I have not been able to get my mysql server to start. As a last resort I tried un-installing the server and all other mysql components and then re-installing it again. The un-install appeared to be fine, but I cannot install the meta package that installs the required components again. I get the above error every time.
