Bug Description
When a first gnome-terminal instance is launched from nautilus (context menu item "Open in Terminal"), it automatically receives focus for keyboard input.
When additional instances are launched in the same way, the mechanism breaks down and focus remains with nautilus. If the user immediately starts typing, their input ends up being processed by the nautilus search bar instead of the terminal. Correcting this course of action requires unnecessary clicks or keyboard strokes. That is potentially confusing and certainly annoying.
I remember being affected by the same bug in the early days of either Ubuntu 23.04 or 23.10. I have found a bug report related to gentoo that mentions something very much like what I am describing here: https:/
