Bug Description
I have ubuntu 17.10 with Xorg Gnome desktop, intel i915 driver and two monitors attached.
gnome-shell causes a very high CPU load which seems to make the system unusable sluggish.
When moving a window the CPU usage of gnome-shell raises to over 90 %.

I know gnome-shell's CPU requirements are way too high right now. In reproducing and fixing this bug I think it's helpful to developers in noting what model CPU is affected.
