How about a more light-weight mta ?

I would like to suggest msmtp-mta instead it's much more lightweight and it's a good mta.

Mutt can talk directly with a smtp server (smtp_url configuration option) which I think makes unnecesary to force the user to install a local mta. In my personal opinion mutt default-mta should be optional.

Is this a dupe of 1143862? In any event, it seems unnecessary to install a full-weight, highly-configurable MTA like postfix as a dependency of mutt. Either switch the dependency to a lighter-weight MTA that functions only to forward mail to a central mailhub for delivery, or, eliminate the need for an MTA altogether and rely on the user configuring mutt options correctly for SMTP forwarding.

If a user has a need for postfix on a specific machine for whatever reason, they can install and configure it themselves.
