notifications won't stop popping

a notification about system update has appeared, I clicked on closing button in the notification applet, the notification gone, but after nearly 2 or 3 seconds it shows again, and still popping and disappearing and can't stop it.
this is very annoying behaviour

TEST CASE:
load muon-notifier
run apt update
if you get lots of notifications it fails
you should still get 1 notification

Uploaded 5.2.2-1-0ubuntu4.1 with patch from upstream (it also changes the notification icon to a better one, there's no docs that cover this so this is fine for UI freeze)

The version of muon in the proposed pocket of Vivid that was purported to fix this bug report has been removed because the bugs that were to be fixed by the upload were not verified in a timely (105 days) fashion.
