Bug Description

$ kpartx -h
usage : kpartx [-a|-d|-l] [-v] wholedisk
        -a add partition devmappings
        -r devmappings will be readonly
        -d del partition devmappings
        -l list partitions devmappings that would be added by -a
        -p set device name-partition number delimiter
        -g force GUID partition table (GPT)
        -v verbose
        -s sync mode. Don't return until the partitions are created

The man page does not state anything about -s

This sync mode didn't seem to exist in trusty, or at least it changed defaults between trusty and xenial. It's documented in the man page in xenial now, but it's still annoying to see...

Setting fix released per former comment, I could confirm that.

Since the -h output does have the content I'd tending to set the Trusty task to WontFix, but would like to have an ack - for the one accepting the task nomination, please set it to wishlist right away if you can..

status: Triaged → Fix Released
