Muine freezes on some files, audio backend error

Bug Description

When trying to play certain files two error messages pop up:

"Audio backend error:

Element doesn't implement handling of this stream. Please file a bug."

and

"Audio backend error:

There were no decoders found to handle the stream, you might need to install the corresponding plugins"

CLI output is (repeatedly):
"(muine:22726): GStreamer-WARNING **: pushing data on non-negotiated pad mad2:src, not allowed."

After this error every other file will fail with the same error until I restart muine.

Maybe the 0.10 backend of gstreamer will fix this bug.

Thanks for the report.

Could you provide some more information, please? What files are they? Do they play with non-gstreamer audio players? What versions of the gstreamer packages do you have, esp. gstreamer0.8-mad?

I found a vaguely similar issue here:

Normal .mp3 files

They play with everything else, I just tested totem-xine, banshee (gstreamer 0.10), VLC, RealPlayer.

And I am pretty sure they used to work in banshee too. Unfortunately I have no idea what packages I updated since.

I'm on dapper by the way.

All packages are the latest dapper packages, all gstreamer0.8 packages are version 0.8.12-1ubuntu1

Since muine switched to gstreamer 0.10 and I never encountered the bug again, I think it can be marked as fixed.
