Bug Description

Binary package hint: dosfstools

Using the last mlabel version (Mtools version 4.0.10, dated March 10th, 2009), renaming a SD card it puts the label always "UPPERCASE" instead of "CaseSensitive".

Example:

$ sudo mlabel -i /dev/sdb1 ::Kingston -- gives me always "KINGSTON" instead of "Kingston"

Thank dosfslabel (3.0.3, 18 May 2009, FAT32, LFN), I could put a label with case sensitive name.

$ sudo dosfslabel /dev/sdb1 Kingston (checked with blkid)

Also palimpsest and gparted have the same issue regarding uppercase label names on Karmic.

Moving to mtools. This should not affect palimpsest any more, we moved udisks to use dosfslabel instead of mlabel.

affects: dosfstools (Ubuntu) → mtools (Ubuntu)
