Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-mplayer

Following a discussion about how Firefox 3.0 handles mms stream I've noticed an issue with mms:// link.
Using a clean Firefox profile if you visit a site like this http://www.radiorockroma.it/index.php that uses plain link as "mms://66.186.34.172:8971/RadioRock_audio" Firefox doesn't ask the user to select an application, but it simply says that "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (mms) isn't associated with any program."
I think that mplayer-plugin should register to open mms:// link...maybe is a bug similar to the totem bug #202907 ?

P.S. I'm using mozilla-mplayer version 3.55-1ubuntu1~hardy1 under KUbuntu 8.04.1
