Not able to play movies fullscreen after the last update

Bug Description

After the last update (via update manager) I find out that mplayer
(command-line) cannot play the movies in full-screen mode.

I can compare with Hardy: the same mplayer (from svn) works ok, no artifacts.

The dual-core AMD Turion 2.2GHz should be enough for movies (and it was under Hardy).

It's either different drivers or something bad with the timing in the kernel or something bad with the video.

Expected: No artifacts in the movies that cause no problems under Hardy.
Actual: In full-screen mode there are timing artifacts under Natty and no artifacts under Hardy. That is, the image "freezes" for some time and the movement becomes unnatural.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/902383/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
