Bug Description

Binary package hint: mplayer

Hi

I've noticed that there is a memory leak when playing media file with subtitles when using libass library and video output set as gl2. Switching to gl eliminates the problem but I want to stick with gl2 as th vo device.

This is reproductible always, and the memory use grows only when mplayer is showing subtitles. Scenes when there are no subs are not making the memory use bigger. Over 1 hour I can get stuck with whole Physicall memory blocked and swap also.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/mplayer
NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia
Package: mplayer 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu19
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: mplayer
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-16-generic x86_64

I also noticed a memory leak problem of mplayer. It is annoying me.

I'm a smplayer user. I played xvid media file with subtitles written in Korean. When mplayer plays a file, it eats memory spaces steadily. Finally no free spaces are remained.
In my case, the mplayer uses ffodivx codec for video and a52 for audio. And I use vdpau for video output and pulseaudio for audio output.

The followings are my system informations.

Arch: AMD64
Distro: Ubuntu 9.04
Kernel: 2.6.28-16-generic
Mplayer version: 2:1.0~rc3+svn20090620~jaunty~ppa1

I use mplayer from nvidia-vdpau-team-ppa(https://launchpad.net/~nvidia-vdpau/+archive/ppa).

I attach pmap data of mplayer.
Please refer the attached.
