I reset the changelog version to ubuntu1 and tweaked the changelog entry before uploading for you.

A few suggestions for next time:
- Add the LP number to the changelog so that the LP bug gets closed automatically when the package lands in "release"
- You could subscribe ubuntu-sponsors to bugs that need sponsoring since it might get faster service in case your original sponsor isn't available

And thanks for the reminders. I was not sure if ubuntu-sponsors should be subscribed when someone was already overseeing the main issue (here the ffmpeg transition).

This bug was fixed in the package mplayer - 2:1.5+svn38542-1ubuntu1
