Doesn't play FLAC audio files any more

Bug Description

Whenever I play a FLAC audio file I get this error:

Cannot find codec for audio format 0x43614C66.

It used to work, but cannot recall how long ago.
The ldd tool reports that libFLAC.so.8 is being correctly used.
