Cannot forward message inline

T-Bird 1.5.0.7 and 1.5.0.8.

When forwarding a message, regardless, of the configured preferences, or the selected mode (ie;Message-->Forward as-->Inline from ythe message menu) the forwarded message is always attached (as an attachment), not shown inline.

This occurred after the 1.5.0.8 upgrade, released on 20061117. I subsequently backed out the upgrade, (sudo aptitude install mozilla-thunderbird/edgy) and restarted Thunderbird. It now shows version 1.5.0.7 in Help-->About.

I went into Advanced Config and changed mail.forward_message_mode to 1, restarted T-Bird, and still get the same behavior; Forwarded messages attached, not inline.

Thank you for the bug report, can I ask if you can still reproduce this on 1.5.0.9? Perhaps can I get you to try a new profile, this can be done by renaming your ~/.mozilla-thunderbird folder to something else and then running Thunderbird again.

Hi Alex,

The behaviour reported by ScottHerman is still present in 1.5.0.9 with profiles being created from scratch. IMHO this is a major drawback coompared to previous version where this feature was working flawlessly.

I just tested this on 1.5.0.10, I cannot reproduce this bug, both ways described in Scotts report work fine for me..

Can you please try running Thunderbird from the Command Line with the '-safe-mode' option being passed, this will disable any extensions/themes you have that may cause a problem..

Hi Alex,

Meanwhile Ubuntu has updated TB to 1.5.0.10 which does not show the problem anymore.
Forwarding inline works as expected without doing any changes to the configuration for which 'forward inline' did not work previously.
